I was born at Dee Street Maternity home in Invercargill and went to Dunedin Teacher's College.
I have been teaching for 18 years and have worked at Henry Hill - Napier; Vendorra - Otara, Auckland; Otara - Southland
& Tokanui schools.
The good things about Tokanui School are the friendly children and staff. I am the Reading
Recovery teacher, Management Unit holder and teach in the junior school.
I decided to be a teacher because I wanted to work with children. If I wasn't a teacher
I would be a nurse or full-time dog breeder. My favourite pastimes are relaxing with a good novel, visiting with friends
& family, & I enjoy listening to a range of music.
An Anecdote
" I love teaching in the New Entrant class, each day brings up new challenges and laughs. Sometimes
the children forget what to call me, 'Mum' slips out often, but the day I was called 'Grandma' - I had to remind them
who I was. Grandma was just too much"
