I was born in Christchurch and went to Christchurch Teacher's College. I have been
teaching for 20 years and have worked at Southbridge - Canterbury; Waimahaka - Southland; Gorge Road - Southland; &
Tokanui schools.
The good things about Tokanui School are the great kids, The supportive community and working
in a beautiful area of New Zealand. I am the Principal of Tokanui School and teach the Y7 & Y8 class.
I decided to be a teacher because I enjoy working & talking with children. If I wasn't
a teacher I would be a world traveller. My favourite pastimes are reading, gardening, & I try to walk everyday but
it's really not my favourite pastime.
An Anecdote
" One past student was diligently listening to the Bible in Schools teacher. The teacher
asked the children what a parable was. This very intelligent young man replied, 'It's how Mum pays for our electricity.'"
